Whenever ones talk about Mid-Autumn Festival, the first thing that come to our mind is mooncake, lantern and Chang-Er. Yet, there are still some minority of the people know that today is actually the birthday of the Moon Goddess.
Today, when I was attending a Mid-Autumn Festival party organised by my friend, I have met with this family. Guess what? They are praying the moon in front of their house! Nowadays, this phenomenon is rarely seen as not many people practice this praying anymore. This is the first time I have seen one. This family has set some foods and fruit on the table. They light up 3 lantern in front of the table and then put lots of candles on the edge of the table to make a 'L' shape.
When there is a birthday of the moon, there will be a birthday of the sun. The sun birthday falls on the 19th days of the third lunar moon. One extra thing is, today is actually the birthday of Tua Pek Kong as well.
