Fish Farm Beside Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway

It has been more than one month since I last traveled on foot. In this one month time, I have worked a week of part-time job, participate in few food reviews and the rest of the time I was getting rotted at home. The almost everyday was a raining day on May is to blame as it really demotivated me to walk out from my house! (actually my laziness was to blame..hehe..) Recently, the raining season seems to have come to an end as it has not been raining for a few days. So, a couple of days ago, I ignited the spirit within me to continue the long postponed foot travelling.

This time, I have decided to travel to the fish farm beside the Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu Expressway. Every time I passed through with car, I have been wishing to pay a visit to this fish farm. Well, my little wish was fulfilled two days ago. The walking distance for this foot travelling was a short one, about 8 km. I departed from my house at 3.30 pm and reached the fish farm at 7 pm. Supposedly an 8 km distance should be able to end within 2 hours with foot travelling but I have took a total of 3.5 hours to accomplish. There are three reasons causing the delay. Firstly, I walked slowly this time. Secondly, I took a 15 minutes for my lunch and thirdly I took a 30 minutes for selfie. Yes, you are reading it right, I have took a 30 MINUTES for selfie!!!

Just when I walked out from my house, I saw the sky was turning pretty dark. I was thinking that maybe it will rain later and I was about to cancel the trip. However, I noticed that there was something wrong with the sky so I walked to a wider area to see what was happening. It seems that the dark sky I was seeing was not caused by the dark cloud, but caused by the smoke. Afterward, I have seen a number of firetrucks along the way so there must be somewhere on fire.

Knowing that it wont rain, I decided to continue my journey. Soon, I came to the flyover leading to Gold Coast. Usually, I will take the right path to Queensbay but this time I have took the left path.

After turning left from the Gold Coast roundabout, it was again a new place for me. Though I have passed through there quite few times with car, yet I have never really pay attention to it. With the path remain unknown to me, my instinct told me that all I have to do was just walked straight along the sea side as the fish farm is located at the sea side.

On my left is the condominium that was still in the construction process. Last time when I passed through it was still covered with green net, but now it was almost done constructed. Meanwhile, on my right is the luxury Gold Coast condominium.

There weren't much condominiums at this area, personally think that the most luxury one is the Gold Coast condominium. Soon, I have left the condominium area and came to the road where sea view was at sight.

I saw this sticker at the roadside, you can try to call them if your car or motor bike tire is punctured. By the way, I was wondering why would someone stick such contact number at this roadside? Could it be that......

Walking further ahead and I came to the Jerejak Jetty. Anyone who would like to go to Jerejak Island has to take the boat from here.

This is the jetty for the tourists to take off to Jerejak Island. Usually, the jetty was locked up and will only be opened when there were tourists have to take off from here. I asked the person in charge whether he can let me go in to take some photos or not. He said cannot because he will be scolded by the higher up if they see this. Since cant get in, I change my shooting place to the beach beside it.

Photo taken at the beach beside the Jerejak Jetty. Those colourful flags were surely attractive.

There was a family resting on the beach. I guess they should be the residents nearby.

Early, I have mentioned that I have spent half an hour taking selfie. Well, this is the place. I want to take a photo with those stones as my background from a high angle. I set my camera on a big rock and change the setting to timer. I pressed the shutter and then rapidly move to the stones and pose. After the photo was taken, I climbed back to the big rock to check the resulted photos. Though, I was not satisfied with my pose and for this, I have ran back and forth for several times. I have spent more than half an hour on this but lastly there wasn't any photographs that I was satisfied with. =(

Worry that it might be late to reach the fish farm, I gave up on the selfie and continued with my journey. Next to the Jerejak Jetty is this sales gallery building. I wasn't sure what it sells but judging from how it looks, it should have something to do with real estate.

I started to see food stalls not far away from the sales gallery. I sit down at this Malay stall and have my brunch.

I ordered a glass of lime water, one plate of fried banana and one bowl of laksa. This simple meal only costs me RM4.50. The fried banana and lime water each costs RM1 while the laksa costs RM2.50. This is definitely cheap for a meal. However, the taste wasn't so nice.

Next to the Malay stall is the Thai food eating place. The Malay stall hawker told me that if I want to eat at the Thai food eating place, I have better ask for the price first. She said that there was a group of 80 people having their meal here and being charged for RM7000, it was about RM100 per person!

Walking along the sea side and I came to this luxury residential area, D' Residence. I really wasn't expecting there are luxury townhouses like this in this area. I have always thought that this area was occupied by condominiums only.

There is a small road beside the luxury residential area. Though I have no idea where it will leads to, but I have decided to explore it.

The Penang brigde can be seen from here. It is really nice to stay at this area as the resident can see the sunrise everyday!

The houses at here were all 3 storey and all were nicely decorated. I can only see them outside the fence. Unless in dream, I don't think that I have the chance to stay in such luxury house for the rest of my life.

Besides looking at the luxury houses, I was looking at the cow too. I was really worried that it might attack me while I was passing trough..hehe..

Walked out from the small road beside D' Residence and once again I came to another small road. Beside this small road is a marine base.

I saw quite a lot of fishing boats not far away but this place doesn't seems like a fisherman village. I guess the fisherman just park their fishing boat at there and lived somewhere else.

I met with this couple who were shooting their outdoor wedding photo at there.

Walking further down and I came to the Penang bridge. Long ago, while I was still studying in USM, I have thought of walking from USM to Penang bridge. But that time it was merely a thought, and today that mere thought has become reality.

I passed through the Penang bridge and came to 'The Light' construction site along the sea side.

Starting from this point, there is the bicycle lane along the way. Last time I have heard that Penang was to build a bicycle lane that can round the whole island. Well, I guess this must be it.

The bicycle lane can be seen along "The Light" construction site. The surroundings of the bicycle lane is being beautified, I think they want to make it to look like a garden.

Looks who I have found? Do they look familiar to you? I am sure that you must have seen them at least once if you have ever passed through Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway.

I have spent 3 hours to reach e-GATE and the time was already 6.30pm. I started to worry that I cant make it in time to the fish farm before the sky turn black. I felt a little bit regret as I have spent too much time on the selfie. Then, I set a time for myself. If I cant reach the fish farm before 7.30pm, then I will gave up this trip and go again the other day.

This is the opposite of e-GATE. The bicycle lane ends somewhere before here.

Soon, I came to the end of "The Light" construction site. The road became rougher and harder to walk on.

At last, the road lead me to Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway and I walked along the motorbike lane stating from this point.

Soon, I started to see the fish farm on my right! It wasn't as far as I have thought it would be. I looked at the time and I wasn't even 7 pm yet. I felt happy..haha..

Sharp at 7 pm, I have finally reached the fish farm that I have been dreamed for so long! Same as always, every time I have reached the destination of my foot travelling, the heart was filled with joy. It was really an excited moment when you have reached something that you have put so much efforts on it. I walked on the wooden bridge happily and enjoyed seeing every single view on the bridge.

Looking from afar at this wooden bridge until the very end of the fish farm, I am guessing that it's length is 4 to 5 times of that of Chew Jetty. While walking on the bridge, I saw that the planks were pretty old and some were broken already. It feel soft when I stepped on the bridge.

Another thing to worry about is the slanting part of the wooden bridge. If you are not good with balancing, better bring a friend along with you..hehe..

When I was shooting this photo, suddenly there was a dog rushing out from the end of the bridge and bark at me. The dog stopped at a distance away from me but still keep on barking at me. Since she ain't coming any near to me, I just ignored her and continued with my shooting. She barked for quite some time and started to ignore me as well. She then slowly walked back to the end of the bridge. I think she must be tired already. XD

This is the dog that was barking at me all the time. She definitely wasn't laughing, she was very fierce indeed!

As I stepped in further more, the dog came out and bark and me again. Same, she stopped at a distance and after a while she walked back to the jetty end. Once again I stepped in some more, the dog came out, and then she left. We have repeated this procedure for a few times and this is the inner most part I can get. After this point, when I tried to step in again, the dog came at me for real now and she wasn't stopping at a distance this time. Luckily, I have got the camera tripod to defense myself. Well, nothing can be done anymore, at last I wasn't able to reach the fish farm, but still I was happy enough to have reach this wooden bridge.

Shot a night view on the bridge before I leaved.

Afterwards, I have met with a volunteer nearby. I asked him what is the name of the fish farm and he told me that it is called Banglia. I asked him how to spell and he told me that he don't know. He just know that people were calling the fish farm Banglia (I spelled it myself). Then I asked him where can I have my dinner nearby. He then asked back me is it really I want to have my dinner now? I told him yes. Then, he wore his volunteer jacket and took out his motorbike key and fetched me to nearby coffee shop. After having my dinner, I went back home by taking Rapid bus at Jelutong.

(Secretly tell you all : The volunteer and I weren't wearing helmet while riding the motorbike and he was driving at the opposite way. Oh gosh, I have committed two traffic rules one go!)
