Made In Penang Interactive Museum
Made In Penang Interactive Museum
It has been more than 3 months since Made In Penang Interactive Museum launched it's opening. It is the first 3D art museum in Penang. Basically, the main attraction of this museum is it's mural paintings. However, it's mural paintings are slightly different from those that are currently flooding Georgetown as the murals in the art museum are all 3D.

On the last day of the year 2013, after I have done shooting sunrise at Tan Clan Jetty, I have went to a walk at Georgetown. Out of the blue, I heard someone shouting my name excitingly. It was really a surprise for me that I bumped into my friends who were cycling in Georgetown. They were planning to go to visit Made In Penang Interactive Museum afterwards. Since fate brought us together, so I have decided to join them for a little.

This is the entrance to the art museum. On the right is a wall displaying the buildings of the early Penang.

And the left side is a wall displaying the jetty of the early Penang.

There is a 3D trishaw murals at the entrance of the art museum. You don't have to pay for snapping this mural..hehe..

Before reaching the ticket counter, there is a stall selling drinks.

Walking a few steps from the drinks stall and we reached the ticket counter. I looked at the Made In Penang Interactive Museum's logo for a very long time. Finally, I realise that the curves on the logo is actually shaping a 3D 'MIP' word.

The museum's ticket design is environmental friendly. Remember not to throw it away after visiting the museum as you can reuse it as a bookmark.

There is a CM Lim Guan Eng 3D mural at the left hand side of the ticket counter. Let's have an afternoon tea with CM Lim before entering the art museum.

The first thing we saw in the museum is this miniature. This is the barber of the early Penang.

Made In Penang Interactive Museum

This is a Malay selling Nasi Lemak in front of the house, most probably this is what the Malays do for living on the early Penang.

Made In Penang Interactive Museum

Some were selling Durian for living.

Made In Penang Interactive Museum

I am not quite sure what occupation is this. Is it a bamboo supplier?

This model is sitting straight in front of the museum's entrance. The signboards he held on his hands are written Penang Waterfront Miniature (left) and Multimedia Room & Exit (right).

Made In Penang Interactive Museum

Well, it is not likely we will exit just after we came in. So, we have chose to go to see the Penang Waterfront miniature on the left. It is actually a small room displaying the miniature of the weld quay penang based on the 19's.

This is the first miniature display based on 19's weld quay Penang.

The crafting skills of these sifu are excellent. I have to admit that the miniature is so refined!

After seeing the waterfront miniature, it is time to see the 3D murals. The murals are located upstairs. Along the path to upstairs, you can see a number of screens. Well, I named these screen 'the face changing screen'..haha.. These screes are like mirrors. As you walk near to it, you can see yourself in the screen, but with your face changed.

Let's skip the talking and see the murals! I like this mirror mural pretty much. It is so creative!

Made In Penang Interactive Museum

This one is really the mural in mirror. The photo above is actually the reflection of the mirror. One thing I don't like is the angry bird. Feel like it spoils the whole mural.

The areca palm is over-growth the Penang's falg!

Made In Penang Interactive Museum

Round 1, FIGHT!!!

And so, after finished one round, I have took 33 pieces of 3D mural paintings. One thing I am not satisfy is the lighting. The lighting is dim which make taking photos inside the museum a big disadvantage. The normal price for the entrance fee
1. Non-Malaysian tourist : RM30
2. Malaysian Adult : RM15
3. Malaysian Kid / Student : RM10
