Well, to define Wantan Mee, I would say that it is a bowl of noodle with wantan (dumpling). In Penang, we can easily get wantan mee with fried wantan. However, it is another story for wantan mee with fried noodle. It is appropriate to say that wantan mee with fried noodle is pretty rare in Penang.

Lebuh Acheh Wantan Mee

This is a plate of wantan mee with fried noodle. When I reached there, it is only left with this thick fried noodle. The hawker said that the thin fried noodle will taste even nicer. Well, it seems like my luck that day was not that good. This is a large wantan mee. One plate of it already can make me full until the dinner time. If you are not a big eater, it would be wise for you to order a small one.

When talking about wantan mee, what comes first in our mind is the smooth and thin noodle. Yet, this fried noodle wantan mee is totally the opposite way. The fried noodle is more rough and you can taste the crispness out of it. It is a totally different feeling than those normal wantan mee.

As for the wantan, I personally do not prefer it pretty much. The taste of the wantan is a bit dull and the filling is not soft enough. Surely, there are many improvements can be made on the wantan.

Drinks are not available at the wantan mee stall. You will have to order drinks from the coffee shop (house number 40, opposite Flashback Cafe) on the left side of the wantan mee stall. I have ordered an ice coffee, RM1.50.

The hawker said that they opened their stall everyday. Their business hour is from 7.15AM to 1.30PM on weekdays and 7.15AM to 1PM on weekends.

You may refer to the photo above for the prices of wantan mee. Beside selling the wantan mee with fried noodle, the hawker also sells the original wantan mee. He said that I should try the original wantan mee the next time I visit him. Seems that the hawker has pretty much confident on his original wantan mee as well.

Their seats are located at the front of the houses. If the seats at there are full, you can have your wantan mee at the coffee shop at the left side of the wantan mee stall.
