A bar, a cafe and a restaurant. Five27 is where you can find all these combination under one rooftop. Five27 has started their business since 26th Jan 2014, which is just about one month old. It is located at Chulia Street with a comfortable environment where it is a good place for you to meet up with your friends. They serve international cuisine which include American (New), Asian Fusion, British, French, Greek, Italian, Indian, Middle Eastern, Spanish and Thai. In the Trip Advisor website, Five27 is ranked third among the many restaurants in Georgetown.
On 15th Feb, I have participated in the Blogger's Night organised by Five27. This is my third time participating in such event. This time, I am very thankful to Willy from Willy's Audio Blog for his recommendation. Thank you for your recognition.
The most attractive thing when I first step into the restaurant is the colour of the wall. The Baba and Nyonya tradition style came across my mind when I saw the colourful wall. The rattan-made decoration on the wall is actually a lamp. When the sky turn dark, the yellow light softly emits from the lamp making it feels warm and romantic.
This is the bar at the middle of the restaurant on the ground floor.
At ground floor, to the left is a formal style dining area. There is a long table and it is suitable for a family to dine in together. We, of 10 bloggers, were having our international style dinner at this long table on that night.
To the right is a casual style dining area. The upper part of the yellow wall is fully decorated with various pictures while the lower part is decorated with the bricks.
This is the upper floor of Five27. The upper floor uses turquoise and magenta as their theme colour. The middle part of the upper floor has a big square hole and it is just right above the ground floor bar.
There is another bar at the upper floor. The operation hours of the bar is from 5pm to 1am daily and will extends the operation hours to 2am during weekends and holidays.
If you feel that the music on the upper floor is too loud, you can always enjoy your night at the ground floor bar. The same music will be played at the ground floor bar but with a smaller volume.
Five27 will invite singing band to sing at the bar for every Friday and Saturday. The singing will starts on 9.45pm.
If you are not use to the bar life, don't worry, Five27 has prepared a more private space for you. The environment here is pretty comfortable. It is a good idea to enjoy yourself with a book and cocktail to get rid of the tiredness that has been built up from the day.
At the back of the upper floor there are two snooker table and a football table.
The ashtrays are scattered around the upper floor. If you wish to smoke in Five27, the upper floor is the place for you.
The person in charge, Chona greet us with this fruit punch while introducing Five27 to us. The fruit punch doesn't taste too sweet and the flavor wasn't too strong too. It is definitely best to quench one's thirst.
Beer : House Sangria (Red) - RM16
Then, the waitress started serving us with Sangria. Normally, I do not drink alcoholic drinks because I get drunk easily. Though I do not drink much (in fact I dislike the smell of alcohol) but this Sangria just taste nice to me. One glass of Sangria costs RM16, half litre costs RM45 and one litre costs RM75.
Starters : Japanese Tuna Tataki Salad (Asia) - RM26
After the short briefing, we started our dinner with some appetizer.
Pan seared fresh tuna rolled in sesame seeds with mixed salad leaves, French beans, pearl shallots and boiled egg in a Japanese style ponzu dressing.
Starters : Loaded Nachos (Tex Mex) - RM24
Nachos loaded with beef chili. It is the popular food from Mexico.
The sauces for Nachos : Guacamole (green), salsa (red), sour cream (white)
Starters : Mushroom Soup (Mediterranean) - RM12
I want to strongly recommend the mushroom soup of Five27. It is really so nice!
Starters : Indonesian Oxtail Soup (Asia) - RM25
A mildly spiced,clear oxtail soup served with white rice, chili sambal, achar and crackers.
Main : Slow Cooked Lamb (Scandavania) - RM48
Braised for at least three hours so that the meat is very tender, served with mojo rojo sauce, creamed potato and artichoke, citrus apple salad.
Mains : Spaghetti Aglio Olio (Mediterranean) - RM25
I am allergic to seafood, so I have only eaten the noodle. Hmm, it somehow taste a bit sour to me.
Mains : Pan Fried Salmon (Scandinavia) - RM33
In a honey and dill mustard sauce with baby potatoes and balsamic caramelized onion.
The baby potatoes, side dishes of pan fried salmon.
Mains : Meatballs (Scandinavia) - RM39
Beef meatballs served with creamed potato, brown sauce, cranberry & raspberry jam and pickled cucumber.
Desserts : Chocolate Blondie - RM15

You might be thinking that it is hard to find a parking lot at Chulia Street. Don't worry, Five27 has solved this problem for you. They have a private car park at the back of their restaurant specially for their customers.
The entrance of Five27 private car park is at Carnarvon Street there. This orange building is the obvious landmark. Once you saw this building, turn left before passing the building and there is the entrance to the car park.
