【Penang Event】The Weekly Social Activity In George Town | Occupy Beach Street

Since 11 December 2011, part of Beach Street has been used for the car free day project on every Sunday. Few months ago, this part of Beach Street was getting merrier with the newly introduced "Occupy Beach Street" event. People may use the road for healthy and fun physical activities like walking, jogging, biking dancing and social activities.

It has been four months since "Occupy Beach Street" started and today was my first time going there. Why? Because I cant woke up every time! Today, I purposely set my alarm to 8.30am but when I woke up it was already nine something! I quickly brushed my teeth and washed my face and then rushed my way to the bus stop. When I reach there, it was already 10.30am and I have missed half of the event. Last time I used to pass through here during the event but that time it was already near the end so there weren't much things left to see. Compare to the day I passed through, it seems like there were lessen people today and some of the stall were closing upon my arrival. Is it because that this event has been held for quite some time and many people have been there so they do not go again? Hmm?

The most obvious activity in the event is this snake and ladder board game because it is really really big! Look at the dice, the kids really need more effort to lift it up.

For these kids, this place is like a heaven to them. Just look at how happy they are.

The second most obvious activity should be this drawing on the road. The kids were showing off their drawing talent on the road in front of The Whiteaways Arcade.

Is this handsome little guy here trying to show off in front of the cute girl? Well, I caught you! Haha~

Oops, this time she caught me..hehe..

Yesterday, a misfortune has landed upon MH370 and this plane has yet to be found. To do the least we can, the emcee keep on encouraging the public to fold a paper crane as a symbol of praying for the safety of all the people on-board MH370.

Let us pray together with our most sincere heart for all the victims. Hope that all of them can come back safely. Hope that there is miracle.

This is knives massage therapy, it is a traditional remedy to preserve health. It helps to remove, or even eliminate stress, headache, neck pain, back pain and stiff shoulder.

This is Robin-M1, a mobility scooter. You have to pay for riding it, 8 rounds for RM10. Looking at this brother playing it, it seems like this scooter is quite hard to control, so it must be quite challenging..hehe..

This T-shirt printing is one of the activities carry out by The One Academy Penang for their graduation exhibition fund raising.

After adding colours in the frame with figure, they use a piece of wood to evenly scattered the colour until the whole figure was covered.

There will be different performances going on during different time. For the time I was there, it was a dancing performance. I must say that, this performance was the most unique and artistic dance I have ever seen! The moment the dancers came out, the way they danced has deeply attracted me. This was the first time I have seen such dancing. The whole dancing performance was just like they were worshiping a deity, which was very artful and beautiful.

Beside the way they dance, the expression on their face and the way they enjoyed the dance was even much more attractive!

During 22 March to 30 March, this dancing group is having a workshop for public at The Whiteaways Studio. One workshop costs RM50, two workshops cost RM80 and all the three workshops will costs RM120.
