出发的早晨 |
In the morning of 9th January, I have seen the most beautiful sunrise ever. The sun rays penetrated the cloudy sky as if there was hope in the sky. On that beautiful morning, me and my friends have went to visit Taiping and Ipoh. We departed form Penang after we had our breakfast together.
About one and a half hour journey, we have reached our first destination, Maxwell Hill. Before we reached Maxwell Hill, we have called to book for the jeep service. Unfortunately the person in charge said that we have to wait for the 2PM one as the morning one have been fully book by other customers.
Despite knowing that there was no jeep service available in the morning, we were not giving up our hope. We reached Maxwell Hill on 9.30AM. We walked into the office and asked for the jeep service. The good news is, there is actually a jeep service available and so we have bought the 10AM one.
This is the time and the price for the jeep service. You can refer here to plan for your trip.
This is my third time visiting Maxwell Hill but I was only stay at the mountain foot for the previous two visits as we were unable to book for the jeep service. So, this time I was really lucky..haha.. The journey up to the mountain took about half an hour. The jeep dropped us at a height of 1036 meters above sea level and we have one hour free time at there.
There aren't much thing to do on the mountain beside walking around and enjoy the beauty of the mother nature. Of course, if you are not the type that like to walk, you can enjoy yourself with a cup of hot coffee and enjoy the cold weather in a cafe. We walked around and we met with this swing and my friends were enjoying themselves with the swing.
I say the most attracted place will be this bridge and the tower beside. This view was taken from the tower.
This is the tower beside the bridge.
The tower has two levels. The stairs to the upper level is quite dangerous so we have to be very careful.
The view taken form the tower. Rotating a 180 degree and the road will become a smile. =)
My friends who were travelling together. Ze Chen from China, Pei Yin from Kuala Pilah and Hua Wei from Taiping.
This is the only time I have seen a blue sky throughout the whole Taiping and Ipoh trip. The sky were grey and crying for the rest of the time, so does my mood.
After taking a few photos at the tower, it is time to head back to the jeep.
Let's take a group photo before heading down the mountain.
An hour of free time just ended like that. Frankly speaking, the time is a bit too short. Farewell, Maxwell Hill. If there is a chance next time, I will be sure to visit you again!
Next event is our lunch time. We went to the food court at the 2nd level of Taiping market (the higher level is a bowling centre) to have our lunch. This is an 'explode mee' called by the Taiping people. One plate of explode mee costs RM3.50, and the taste is normal only. One more thing is this explode mee must be eaten while it is still hot, otherwise the taste will become not nice when it has become cold.
Hua Wei has ordered this toast for us. I would say that this is the nicest toast that I have ever eat!
This Teh Ice is from the same stall as the toast. One drink plus one piece of toast only cost RM2, it is quite cheap!
After having our lunch, we went to Hua Wei's house for a little rest. At 5PM, we went to our next destination, Taiping Lake. Before that, Hua Wei bring us to have a look at the old train's head.
At first, we want to play this water roller at Taiping Lake, but it is a bit expensive so we have decided not to play it. One water roller costs RM25, at most it can fit two adults and one kid and you can only play for half an hour per time.
At last, we have decided to ride a boat. This boat can fit four people and it only costs RM20 for half an hour. It is much more worth than the water roller.
These are the photos taken in the middle of the lake.
After the ride, we went back to Hua Wei's house for a rest before we have our dinner.
We went to eat this 'fireworks' Char Koay Teow together with Hua Wei's family for the dinner.
The name 'fireworks' isn't just for fun only. It really has a lot of fireworks when the hawker is cooking the Koay Teow!
Well, the fireworks is definitely a lot but the taste was not as nice as I thought it would be. One thing different from the Penang Char Koay Teow is that this fireworks Char Koay Teow is more spicy.
With this, it ends our first day trip. We sleep overnight at Hua Wei's house and the next day we will be going to Ipoh. Before we sleep, Ze Chen has told us some ghost stories. Those stories really made me sleepless!
