| 山海阴阳殿的请火仪式 |
在华人的民间信仰文化里，请火是一个相当重要的仪式。长年间，被安奉在庙里的神明的力量会不断地减弱，所以必须请火再次把神明的力量从新充满。庙方会回到神明的原始地把神明再一次的请到庙里去。
很荣幸的，因为工作的缘故让我有机会亲身体验到了这神圣的仪式。这是海墘码头区盂兰盛会的请火仪式，庙方从姓林桥旁的山海阴阳殿开船到Teluk Kumbar的Kampung Sungai Batu的海边去请大士爷。由于船已载满了人，所以我是跟他们的车过去的。车子比船迟出发，所以到那的时候他们已经准备到一半了。
In the Chinese cultural, "Qing Huo" is an important ritual. Over the year, the power of the deity is gradually reducing and hence, they will perform this "Qing Huo" ritual to recharge the power of the deity to it's fullest. They will go back to the deity's origin place and bring back the deity to the temple once again. Due to the work I am currently doing, I have the chance to experience this sacred ritual. This is the "Qing Huo" ritual of the Weld Quay Hungry Ghost Festival. Their temple is just besides the Lim Jetty. During the ritual, they sent a boat from the temple to the beach near Kampung Sunagi Batu of Teluk Kumbar. Due to the limited seat on the boat, I have followed them to the ritual destination on a van which is departed much more later than the boat. When I reached there, they have already done half of the preparation.
信徒们将普渡旗，红蜡烛和香插在沿海一带。
The triangles flags, red candles and the joss sticks are being scattered along the seaside.
这是天公座。
This is the altar for the Emperor of Heaven.
在天公座前放置着一桶火炭。这桶火炭就是所谓的“火”，也就是要被请回去阴阳殿的大士爷。
A bucket of charcoal is put in front of the altar of the Emperor of Heaven. This charcoal is the fire of the God of Hades which is to bring back to the temple later.
在天公座的旁边则是祭拜好兄弟的祭品。
Besides the altar of the Emperor of Heaven is the offerings for the ghosts.
除了祭拜好兄弟，信徒们也有祭拜守护着这一区的两位拿督公。
Besides praying for the ghosts, they also prayed for the two deities (Na Du Gong) which guarded this area.
信徒在撒纸钱。
The paper money is spread around the whole area.
信徒们排着队一个一个爬上阶梯去祭拜。
The prayers are climbing to the top one by one for praying.
就在祭拜的当儿，信徒们不停的撒饼干，面，面线，米及倒油。这些都是供奉给好兄弟的。
During the ritual, they are spreading cookies, noodles, rice and pouring oils all around the area. These are the offerings for the ghosts.
祭拜完毕后，信徒们将七色纸和金银纸倒在一个角落，而天公金则倒在天公座前。
After the praying, the prayers scatter the seven colour papers and the gold and silver paper at one place, while the gold paper for the Emperor of Heaven is scattered in front of the altar of the Emperor of Heaven.
然后就会卜杯请示神明的指示。
And then they will ask for the instruction from the deities.
如果得到圣杯，信徒们就会把七色纸，金银纸和天公金烧掉。
If the deity is happy with the ritual, then they will burn the seven colour paper, the gold and silver paper and the gold paper for the Emperor of Heaven.
最后，就是要把火炭请上船了。大士爷的一切现在已经是在这些火炭里燃烧着了。
Lastly is to take the charcoal onto the boat. The God of Hades is now inside the flames of the charcoal.
然后就是开船把火炭带回阴阳殿了。
Then is to bring back the charcoal to the temple.
